Shark Research Internships

Each year, the Center for Shark Research accepts approximately 10 student interns who assist center scientists in virtually all aspects of their research activities.

These internships allow students to learn about marine science by active, hands-on experimentation. Internship experience helps students understand the real-world relevance of their coursework, develop essential career skills, build a network of professional contacts, explore potential career paths and have fun!

  • Mote is also a host site for the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program. This is a separate program that offers paid research internships to 10 college undergraduates during a 10-week period in the summer. CSR scientists regularly participate in the Mote REU Program.
