Join Mote for a Galapagos Expedition

For years Mote's Education Division has had its sights set on educational travel opportunities. Until now, we just haven't been able to find the right opportunity. But this is it, we finally have the ideal destination and the perfect partners.

We're going to the
GALAPAGOS ISLANDS in 2009, and we want you to come with us.

Our Galapagos expeditions are being arranged through International Expeditions, a world leader in nature travel, and Cruise & Tour, which is handling reservations and all travel arrangements. Each of our 10-day journeys to the Galapagos archipelago includes two days in Guayaquil, Ecuador and a full week in the Galapagos. Our base of operations will be the 204-foot M/V Evolution, which accommodates just 32 guests in comfort and carries its guests from one magical island to the next. Small group trips like these are the only way to go. They maximize your time at each Galapagos destination and with your naturalist guides. You see more, you learn more, and you do more.

During your week aboard the Evolution, you'll visit nine different islands, each distinctly different and offering unique wildlife viewing opportunities. Two expert naturalists will be with you aboard the Evolution, each leading just 16 guests on excursions, sharing with you their knowledge, insights, and love of their homeland. You'll also be joined on this excursion by a Mote host from the Education Division.

Picture yourself viewing sea lions while snorkeling alongside eagle rays...imagine standing on a volcanic landscape with nesting Blue Footed Boobies literally at your feet...envision watching the giant tortoises graze within lush fields. You'll also visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, where you'll learn about the vital work being done to study and preserve all Galapagos wildlife.

Please note July date change: Our departure dates are March 27th and July 17th, 2009 and the trips are open to Mote Members, Volunteers and the public. (Both trips are open exclusively to Mote Members and Volunteers through the New Year.) The Evolution only accommodates a maximum of 32 guests, so an early decision is a must. This is an incredible trip with a great price and a portion of your trip proceeds will support Mote's efforts in research and education.
