Program Descriptions

Classroom Program: Angelfish to Zebra Sharks (All About Fish)

Through storytelling and mystery clues, explore the biology of fish and sharks. Then examine preserved specimens and visit the shark tank in the Aquarium.

Classroom Program: Mighty Manatees

Discover the Florida subspecies of the West Indian Manatee that makes its home in Sarasota Bay through active games, role plays, and examination of bio-facts.

Classroom Program: Making Sense of Sharks

Learn how a shark's senses are adapted to make it the ocean's top predator.

Laboratory Program: Planet H2O

Discover the water cycle with hands on experiments and simulations.

Field Program: Habitat Hoopla! Find out what to wear and bring

Wade into the coastal waters of Sarasota Bay with dip nets as we learn about the estuary habitat and introduce the scientific method. Come ready to get wet and catch some critters!

Field Program: Snorkeling Workshop Find out what to bring and wear.

Learn the basics of snorkeling while exploring the coastal waters of Sarasota Bay. Bring your own mask, fins, and snorkel and be ready to get wet!

Auditorium Program: How do they do it? The Amazing Adaptations of Marine Mammals

Gain insight into Mote Marine Laboratory’s marine mammal research during this fun, interactive and educational game show style auditorium program.  Only offered at 9am and 10am time slots.

50 minutes • 200 students/class • 1 chaperone free : 5 students ratio • $12/student

SeaSnooze Overnight Program: Wonderful World of Marine Creatures

Explore the Aquarium at night and discover the unique adaptations of marine animals through games, hands-on activities, and exhibit visits.  

Friday and Saturday nights, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 a.m.15-50 st1 chaperone free : 5 students ratio
