| The Directorate of Environmental Health & Ocean Technology fosters innovative research to further the identification and understanding of stressors affecting marine ecosystems, their adverse effects and possible mitigation techniques. This research includes development of cutting-edge technologies to enhance investigations of natural and anthropogenic stressors, to advance knowledge of stressor effects at molecular, cellular, organism, population and ecosystem levels in order to provide risk assessment and to establish strategies for protection and enhancement of public health and natural resources. |

About Us
Mote Marine Laboratory has been a leader in marine research since it was founded in 1955. Today, we incorporate public outreach as a key part of our mission. Mote is an independent nonprofit organization and has seven centers for marine research, the public Mote Aquarium and an Education Division specializing in public programs for all ages.
