Fisheries Habitat Ecology Program InternshipFisheries Habitat Ecology internships provide hands-on experience in fish ecology science, with the majority of work in field sampling. These internship are available for summer only. Field sampling includes: seining in mangrove creeks and swamps, and along beaches in southwest Florida. Additional skills interns may learn include fish tagging, fish identification and measurements, extraction of otoliths, and data entry. Interns interested in contributing toward manuscript preparation will also gain valuable experience in this essential skill. Internships are unpaid, and interns are responsible for finding and paying for their own accommodations. All work occurs out of the Charlotte Harbor Field Station.
