Chemical Fate & Effects

Mr. Michael Henry, Program Manager

The Chemical Fate and Effects Program assesses what toxic substances are found in the marine environment, where they come from and where the go.  Working closely with the other program areas, Mr. Henry is involved with extensive field studies backed up with controlled laboratory studies to address chemical changes and metabolic products produced by exposed marine organisms. A major focus of this program is the analysis of natural biotoxins in water, air and marine animals, providing information required to understand how marine life, and humans, are exposed to biotoxins and in what amounts.
