The Chris Cattaneo Memorial Scholarship in Shark Biology
OPEN TO STUDENTS APPLYING FOR SUMMER SHARK RESEARCH INTERNSHIPS

Chris
Cattaneo of Warren, Michigan died tragically at the age of 17 in July
2003, after the personal watercraft he was piloting collided with
another watercraft. He is missed greatly by his family and friends.
In
addition to an active life that included songwriting and playing guitar
for his own band, Chris had a deep, long-standing interest in shark
biology. With this in mind, his family has created a scholarship fund
in his memory that will partially support student internships in the
Mote Center for Shark Research. This unique scholarship fund will make
it possible for
students like Chris to fulfill a life’s desire to work hands-on with sharks.
