After serving as Vice President for Development at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium for several years, Glenda Wright stepped down to enjoy a new semi-retired status. Ms. Wright is still involved in supporting Mote's fundraising efforts as a Development Officer, especially in Charlotte Harbor and Manatee Counties.

She has extensive background as a corporate trainer specializing in workplace dynamics and team building, and worked in the Congressional offices of Dan Miller and Andy Ireland. Miller was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives covering all of Sarasota and Manatee counties and portions of Hillsborough and Charlotte counties until he retired in 2002. Wright served as his Chief of Staff.

She served as District Director and Campaign Manager for Ireland while he served in the U.S. House of Representatives for Pinellas County until his retirement in 1993.

She also served as Adam Putnam’s Campaign Manager from 2002 through 2005 and has since been a political and corporate consultant. She has also served as faculty and adjunct faculty at Manatee Community College and Polk Community College .
