Mote Marine Laboratory

Anna Hayes has been a resident of Sarasota, Fla., for 12 years; prior to that she resided in Rochester, N.Y. and attended the Rochester Institute of Technology in the College of Business.

She joined Mote Marine Laboratory in 2006 and is the Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving. Anna was employed by the Rochester Institute of Technology for many years in both Student Affairs and then as a major gifts development officer during a major capital campaign phase of the college's growth.  Anna was a finalist in the prestigious Athena Leadership Award competition which recognizes initiatives in women’s leadership.  She also has a background in working in corporate America as a co-owner of The Thompson Group consulting company.

She is a board member of the Southwest Florida Planned Giving Council and a member of the national Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. Anna has been an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals for many years and served on the National Philanthropy Day committee for three years.
