A former Mote aquarium volunteer guide, Dana joined the Mote staff in early 2009. As Guest Services Manager, she works with both staff and volunteers in Mote Aquarium, focusing on customer service, admissions processes and daily volunteer briefings. Dana has developed and administers a number of group programs that have added a new layer of experiences for Mote Aquarium visitors. These include Morning Rounds, which allows guests to experience the world of the aquarists who care for our fish and invertebrates; Breakfast at Mote, a pre-opening, private tour of Mote Aquarium with continental breakfast; Seahorse Conservation Laboratory Tours, which permits visitors to step behind the scenes inside the Seahorse Lab to learn about the unique biology, breeding and life of these fascinating animals; and Children's Birthday Parties, which are held at our Chickee on the bay and includes Aquarium admission for all party guests.

Dana has a Master’s Degree from the University of Kansas, and a B.S. in Education. She was a high school Spanish teacher, followed by a lengthy career in real estate brokerage management.
