Turtle upon arrival

3/26 Turtle stranded on Daytona Beach Shores and was transported to Mote.  Animal is lethargic and covered in algae and barnacles.  3/28  Turtle was placed in water today and offered food, which it ate.  3/30  The turtle continues to eat well. 4/20 Turtle continues to do well. It is responding to medications and eating and gaining weight. 5/11 Turtle is off all medications and overall condition is improving. 6/21 The turtle has been moved to a larger tank in preparation for release. The larger tank will help build muscle strength and give the turtle more room to dive. 7/5 Turtle was tagged this morning for release in the near future. 7/27 Turtle was released back into the Atlantic Ocean near Palm Coast, FL.
