Turtle upon arrival

 

3/19  The turtle was lethargic with several large barnacles and a large amount of algae growth on its skin. This turtle had no apparent injuries. Beginning to treat with antibiotics and providing fluids.  3/21  Turtle is swimming and acclimating well. 3/23 The turtle has started eating. 4/20 Turtle is eating well, gaining weight and responding to medications. 5/11 Turtle is gaining weight and off all medications. 6/21 The turtle has been moved to a larger tank in preparation for release. The larger tank will help build muscle strength and give the turtle more room to dive. 7/6 Turtle continues to improve and should be released by the end of summer. 7/27 Turtle was released back into the Atlantic Ocean near Palm Coast, FL.
