Comments/Disposition:

Turtle upon arrival.

8/17 Turtle was found entangled in fishing gear with a fishing hook lodged in the left shoulder area.  Hook and line were removed and turtle was started on antibiotics. 8/22 Turtle appears to be doing very well. 9/1 White count has gone up, so we have changed antibiotics.  Doing well and using left front flipper much better. 9/11 Turtle is much better and is using flipper normally.  Has started gaining weight. 9/19 Turtle's uric acid values are very high, indicating possible kidney problems.  Have decreased salinity of turtle's water to hydrate it.  Will be observing closely. 9/28 Uric acid values have begun to come back down and turtle is doing very well. 10/19 Turtle is now doing very well and uric acid values seem to be staying down. 10/28 Continuing to do very well. 11/13 Turtle is doing well and may be releasable soon. 11/21 Doing very well.  Hoping for release in the next 1-2 weeks. 11/29 Continuing to do well.  May be releasable by next week. 12/5 Turtle has been approved for release on the east coast of Florida. 12/14 Turtle was released this morning from Hutchinson Island near Port St. Lucie, Florida.  It was released south of its original stranding site due to a red tide bloom in the area of the original stranding.
