Comments/Disposition:

Turtle entangled in fishing gear upon arrival.

8/7 Turtle was found entangled on a reef at Bathtub Reef Park.  It has fishing gear encircling both front flippers and its neck.  It also has a carapace fracture over its tail and has fibropapillomatosis.  Turtle is anemic as well.  The fishing gear has been removed and treatment has been initiated. 8/22 Turtle seems to be healing well.  Tumors will be removed soon. 9/1 White count has gone up, so have changed antibiotics.  Doing well, otherwise. 9/11 White count has improved greatly and wounds are healing well. 9/19 Continuing to improve and gain weight. 9/28 Tumors were removed via laser earlier this week.  Doing well and appetite is great. 10/19 Turtle is doing very well and gaining weight.  Wounds are healing well. 10/28 Continuing to do very well. 11/13 Turtle continues to gain weight and do well. 11/29 More of the same. 12/14 Turtle is off all meds and is doing very well.  Moving it to a larger tank for more exercise. 12/26 Doing well in the larger tank. 1/15 Turtle is doing very well.  Two small tumor regrowths were noted today and turtle will undergo cryosurgery tomorrow to remove them. 1/23 Turtle is continuing to do very well. 1/30 Continuing to do well. 3/4 Turtle continues to do very well. 3/13 No evidence of tumor regrowth.  Turtle is doing very well. 3/24 Turtle continues doing very well. 4/8 Doing well and appetite is great. 4/30 Continuing to do very well. 5/17 More of the same. 5/30 Continuing to do very well. 6/20 Still doing very well.  May be ready for release by the middle of summer. 7/1 Had to be put back on antibiotics, but doing well. 7/26 Now off antibiotics again and doing very well. 8/28 Turtle has been moved to an outdoor tank in preparation for release in the next month. 9/11 Turtle has been approved for release as soon as the seas calm down after the storms. 9/23 Turtle was released at Stuart, Florida this morning. Release went well.
