Turtle on admission (left photo) and photo of eye lesion.

3/17 Turtle was found near Salty Sam's Marina near Matanzas Pass.  It was unable to dive.  It was transferred to Mote once fibropappilomas were found on its underside.  Upon arrival at Mote, it appeared to act blind and lesions were noted on both corneas obscuring its vision.  It has a number of small fibropappilomas on its underside that will be treated later if the corneal lesions can be cured. 3/24 Turtle died this morning.  Necropsy revealed a severe lung infection, a long piece of monofilament fishing line in the stomach and small intestine that penetrated the wall of the intestine, and a hematoma in the brain.
