Comments/Disposition:

Turtle was found disoriented near the north end of Anna Maria Island.  It exhibits neurological symptoms, probably caused by red tide toxicosis.  Turtle has been started on treatment. 8/8 Neurologic symptoms are subsiding slightly. 8/11 Somewhat better, but still not eating.  Tube fed for the first time this morning. 8/16 Turtle ate on its own for the first time this morning.  Turtle is stronger and has no more neurological symptoms. 8/19 Turtle's appetite is variable and has not eaten today.  Blood work looks fine. 8/21 Eating better today. 8/25 Continuing to do fairly well. 8/28 Turtle's white count has gone up and appetite has gone down.  Changing antibiotics. 9/4 Turtle is doing much better.  Appetite is good and white count is almost normal. 9/21 Turtle has not been eating well for the last week.  Have started feeding via stomach tube. 10/4 Eating better but appetite is variable.  Doing very well otherwise. 10/12 Appetite is greatly improved. 10/25 Appetite is now normal.  Turtle is doing very well. 11/2 Turtle has been approved for release on 11/4. 11/4 Turtle was released today with two other turtles from Lido Beach, Sarasota.
