This turtle was found stranded on Manasota Key. The turtle is comatose and non-responsive. It is similar to the loggerheads that stranded in the Florida Keys in 1999. Prognosis is poor. Have started the turtle on fluids, antibiotics, atropine, and iron injections. 8/5 Turtle did not respond to treatment and died this afternoon. Necropsy will be performed tomorrow morning.
