Fargo II upon admission


3/7 Turtle found floating and lethargic in red tide area.  Respirations are very low and animal is extremely weak and exhibits edema which may be a sign of red tide toxicity.  Animal kept dry docked over night. 3/8 Put turtle in medical pool in very low water, given medication to increase respirations. Animal given antibiotic injections.  Animal will receiving fluids and oral medications/supplements via tubing for the next few days.  Additionally a small amount of fish gruel will be given.  3/16 Animal still fairly unresponsive but has defecated a large amount of clam and crab shell. We were able to get turtle to take some fish, getting some supplements to it orally. Still recieving fluid therapy and antibiotic treatments.  3/18 Turtle is taking fish offered better and better. Iron injections given due to low levels.  3/21 Turtle starting to move around on its own. 3/28 Turtle's behavior has improved remarkably. She is more alert and actively going after fish. Her water level in the medical pool has been raised and turtle is surfacing and moving around great! 5/6 Fargo II was released from Lido Beach!
