Volunteer upon arrival.

8/29 The turtle was captured by a group of sea turtle researchers on the east coast of Florida. The turtle is active and in good body condition but monofilament and braided fishing line entangled both front flippers and papillomas.  9/2 Large tumor on the front left side of this animal started to "slough" at the beginning of the week and this morning was found at the bottom of the tank.  Turtle appeared fine and no blood loss was noted. Animal is eating great.  9/12 Volunteer had surgery over the weekend and is recovering beautifully!  10/10 Volunteer is healing well since surgery. Watching closely for any signs of new tumors. 11/28 Turtle is eating well and recovering nicely! 12/16 The turtle is going to evaluated for release at the end of this month. 1/31 Released!!
