Comments/Disposition:
5/28 Andre was found floating about a mile and a half offshore. Upon admission to the hospital, the turtle was given fluids and tested in low water to determine his ability to dive and float. The turtle floated at the surface and was unable to  sit on the bottom. 6/2 After submitting blood samples, Andre was started on antibiotics. Andre continues to float and is not eating. Turtle merely bites at food but does not swallow. Andre is scheduled for radiographs (X-rays) later this week. 6/13 Andre has begun to eat on its own. The latest blood samples have shown an elevated white blood cell count and the turtle has been started on new antibiotics and deworming medication. 7/31 Animal eating well and off all antibiotics. Continues to float and remains in low water. 8/22 Andre is doing well, although continues to float a little. A shade cloth was put over the front of his tank. 9/2 Andre is finally sitting on the bottom and eating well. If bloodwork looks good, Andre will be released later this month. 9/26 Released from Lido Beach this morning.
