Comments/Disposition:

5/25/2010  This turtle was found floating in shallow water off Longboat Key this morning just after we released another turtle off Lido!  Zora has papilloma tumors and has a lot of algae and barnacles covering her carapace. Turtle is in decent weight and has already started eating small amounts of food.  6/8  Zora is doing very well — eating everything offered and acting normally.  Turtle has been moved into a full-sized rehabilitation tank and injuries to her carapace from exposure are healing well.  Surgery to remove the papilloma tumors is planned for later this month. 6/27 Turtle had surgery today and is recovering well. 7/12 Turtle was moved to a larger pool in deeper water with hopes for a release in the near future. 7/24 Zora is doing extremely well in deeper water and no re-growth of papillomas. 8/26 Turtle was released from the north end of Longboat Key this morning!
