Comments/Disposition:

3/18  Turtle is a small juvenile (1.2kg), very weak and lethargic.  Initial bloodwork shows very abnormal electrolyte levels.  Turtle has been placed in very shallow fresh water overnight. 3/20  Google was placed into slightly deeper water yesterday, and made it through the night breathing well.  Turtle is not yet eating or swimming strongly.  Bloodwork shows that the electrolytes are slowly normalizing, but turtle remains in critical condition. 3/27  Water level is slowly being raised as turtle is getting stronger and swimming in a more normal fashion. Google finally started eating today!!  Turtle still has a ways to go, but is definitely moving in the right direction.  4/15  Google has been doing very well!  Is eating everything offered, swimming normally in deep water, and gaining weight steadily.  Red blood cell count is still a little low, but is responding.  Plan to recheck in a couple of weeks.  5/6  Google is still eating great and getting along with his current tankmate, Midnite Son.  We are still monitoring blood counts closely, and next recheck is tomorrow.  5/23  Google is doing very well.  Turtle is eating everything we offer, and is now off medications.  He needs to be off all medications for two weeks before we can consider release, but we hope to be able to get him back into the wild soon.  5/31  Google has been off all medications for two weeks and the turtle's bloodwork has normalized.  We will be applying to the state for permission to release, and as soon as logistics permit, Google will be returned to his home. 6/8  Google was released yesterday!! Turtle was transported up to Honeymoon Island State Park near the stranding site, and swam off strongly.
