Comments/Disposition:

2/16/10  Turtle was delivered to Mote Marine Lab by FWC from the East Coast of Florida.  This is a small juvenile turtle with multiple small fibropapilloma tumors.  Turtle has been placed in shallow water and is breathing well.  2/23  Turtle has been eating for a few days, but appetite is variable.  Cupid has an elevated white blood cell count and is having difficulty maintaining a normal blood glucose level — septicemia (widespread infection in the blood) is a possibility.  2/27  Turtle died suddenly overnight.  A necropsy will be performed to try to determine the cause of death.
