2/27 Binx was transferred to Mote from Loggerhead Marinelife Center where it received initial care and treatment after stranding. Turtle was transferred to Mote for further treatment after papilloma tumors started to present. 2/28 Turtle seems to have adjusted well to transfer, and is eating all food offered and is active. 3/18 Turtle is eating well, but floats and is actively pacing in medical pool. Bloodwork does not indicate any signs of stress. A shade clothe has been placed around medical pool to keep it more isolated. 3/24 Turtle underwent surgery to remove papilloma tumors. 3/28 Turtle has recovered well from surgery. 4/8 Bloodwork shows increase in WBC, turtle started on antibiotics. 5/16 Turtle has been resting more on bottom of medical pool. It is not floating as much. 5/31 Turtle recieved cryotherapy to remove a couple small tumors that had regrown. Turtle was moved to a very large and deep medical pool to see if buoyancy issues will resolve. 6/7 Binx is moving around medical pool great and resting on bottom. Buoyancy issues seem to have improved. Another turtle "Mulligan" has also been introduced into this medical pool, and both turtles are cohabitating well. 7/15 Animal pulled for evaluation. Starting another antibiotic regimen due to rising white blood cell count. Will remain in large medical pool to keep buoyancy issues under control. 8/25 Turtle had surgery to remove small tumors. Turtle remains in the large medical pool, and buoyancy issues are subsiding. 10/07 Moving to larger medical pool to determine releasability.
