Comments/Disposition:

Violet upon arrival

Violet during treatment.


5/19 Animal found floating, lethargic and emaciated. Abscesses noted on left side of jaw and on head. 5/22 Animal started on antibiotics. Eating only small pieces of food, having a difficult time opening mouth. 6/05 Animal eating much better; able to eat larger pieces of food. Still on antibiotics. 6/30 Gaining weight and off all antibiotics. 9/24 Violet has been active and eating well.  Turtle was weighed today and blood was drawn. Results indicate that she has gained enough weight and her blood parameters look like she will soon be eligible for release. 10/11  Violet had nearly doubled in weight since arriving at Mote and was released today!
